White Rhinoceros Ceratotherium simum is thriving in Meru and is found in the fenced Rhino Sanctuary.They are named after their wide mouth used when browsing for grass and not the colour. There have been a couple of poaching incidents but Meru is regarded as the safest haven for rhinos in Kenya.
